The Central Bank of the Bahamas, founded in 1974, is the island nation’s central bank.
Functions of Central Bank of The Bahamas:
It is responsible for maintaining the Bahamas monetary and fiscal stability while achieving sustainable economic development.
Some of the bank’s important functions are:
Maintenance of the banking system
Safeguarding the nation’s currency
Managing the foreign exchange reserves
Acting as a banker to banks and the government
Fostering economic development
With regards to its organizational structure, there are a number of committees that ensure optimal functioning of the bank. They are:

Promotions Committee and
In-Service Awards Committee.
