Alabama Chamber of Commerce

The Alabama Chamber of Commerce is also known as the Chamber of Commerce Association of Alabama (CCAA). It was incorporated in the year 1937. The Alabama Chamber of Commerce represents a number of chambers of commerce located in various cities of Alabama.

    The representatives of The Montgomery Advertiser and the Alabama Power Company also played a major role in the formation of the Alabama Chamber of Commerce, which was then named as the Alabama Association of Commercial Organizations.

    Later on, the organization witnessed a lot of changes in the economy of the state of Alabama and this also influenced the chamber itself. Then it focused on the representation of the necessities of the local chambers of commerce and the name of the chamber was also changed to the Chamber of Commerce Executives of Alabama (CCEA) and again to the Chamber of Commerce Executive’s Association of Alabama (CCEAA). After that, it had to face a struggle with its mission and identity and the name was again changed to the Chamber of Commerce Executives of Alabama (CCEA).

    In 1997, the name was again changed to the Chamber of Commerce Association of Alabama (CCAA). Currently, the chamber comprises of the membership of 110 chambers of commerce.

    The principal objective of CCAA is to encourage industrial, commercial, as well as recreational welfare of the state of Alabama. The principal function of the Alabama Chamber of Commerce is to represent the necessities and issues of its member chambers of commerce.

    The President and Chief Executive Officer of Alabama Chamber of Commerce is Mr. L. Ralph Stacy.
