With an expected growth of $109 billion in the financial year of 2008 it may be expected that the earnings per share of BP would be on an upward curve. The annual earnings per share of BP has been exceptionally good in the last two to three years.
At the penultimate quarter of 2006 the earnings per share of BP were $1.74 and in the last quarter of the same financial year as well as the first quarter of 2007 the figure was $1.24. During the second quarter of 2007 the earning per share of BP was $1.67 and in the third quarter BP earned $1.33 per share.
The figure for the fourth quarter of 2007 was $1.27 and in the first quarter of 2008 the figure was $2.06. As per expectations, the second quarter figures are likely to be $2.19 and the third quarter figure are supposed to be $2.26.

In the financial year of 2005 BP earned $5.92 per share on a yearly basis. During the financial year of 2006 the amount increased to $6.35 per share. The figure in 2007 was $5.49 per share and in the year 2008 the yearly earnings per share of BP could be in the region of $7.80 for every share. The figures for 2009 are expected to be $8.45 per share.
Quarterly Revenues of BP
In the third quarter of 2007 BP made $71.3 billion in revenues and in the fourth quarter they made $81.2 billion. In the first quarter of 2008 the figure was $87.7 billion.
Annual Revenues of BP
At the financial year of 2005 the BP generated $255 billion by way of revenues and in the fiscal year of 2006 the annual revenue had become $271 billion. The figure for 2007 was $289 billion. It is expected that the figure for 2008 would be $466 billion and in 2009 the figure is supposed to touch the $496 billion mark.
