The QS World University Rankings by Subject 2016 lists the world’s top universities for finance and accounting. The rankings list 50 universities from around the world which have achieved excellence for imparting education in finance and accounting. As expected, universities from the United States and the United Kingdom dominate the list. Among these 50 universities, the top ten are solely from these two countries. The top three ranks are occupied by premier American universities – Harvard University, Massachusetts Institute of Technology, and Stanford University. The three universities have an overall score of 99.3, 93.8, and 93.5 percent respectively. At the fourth and fifth positions are listed the British Universities – London School of Economics and Political Science and University of Oxford. The other universities in the top ten list include University of Chicago (6th), University of Cambridge (7th),University of Pennsylvania (8th), London Business School (9th), and University of California, Berkeley (10th).
Of the 50 universities, 17 are from the United States. Though the United Kingdom and Australia are placed even with seven universities each, Australian universities have failed to break into the top ten list which has four UK universities. The other countries and regions that find a mention on the top 50 list include the Netherlands, Hong Kong, China, South Korea, Japan, Denmark, Canada, France, New Zealand, Italy and Singapore.
