History of the Journal of Financial Planning
The Journal of Financial Planning has been published since 1979. Nineteen years later the editorial approach of the publication was re-arranged, and the publication also started including advertisements.
The number of subscribers was increased because the Journal sought access to financial planners who were not a member of the Certified Financial Planner Board of Standards and those who were planning to appear at their examinations. The Journal also wanted to include more financial planners in its fraternity.

The Journal of Financial Planning became a member of Business Performing Audits Worldwide in 1997.
